UI and Damage troubles
Author: Max Matus
As the first prototype of our game soon needed to be finished, all the members of the team got their hands full with different assignments. I got to do health and stamina systems, the UI, main and pause menus, and win and death screens. The widgets were a hard part to understand, as these ones caused trouble in the games at the moment of using their buttons or when they couldn't use a mouse.
After long research and with help from our professor, the producers, and my team members, I was able to make the widgets work at an acceptable level. The main issue with the widgets was how difficult it was to treat them as something that needed to be activated and deactivated, so I decided to turn the main menu into a whole new level to just make one jump from one level to another, as this not only made things easier for me but also for my team mates, as they were able to add and fix their own work in those levels.
