Sooo stupid...

OKAY! So Im back, yeah, let's cut to the chase, remember how I had trouble getting the enemy to flash when hit? YEAH, I got it working. I duplicated a premade material that came with the default project and hooked that up to what  I already had and guess what, it works. I was so happy that I pushed it to Perforce so my team could test, see the flash, and give me feedback. Unfortunately, once they loaded it up... No flash. I found out that was because the default material I duplicated was in a folder that my team didn't have. So I decided to make a new material just like that in a folder we all have. I know you may be asking why I didn't just move the material, well because it can cause a lot of issues in Unreal. Anyway, I made it and hooked it in, and now it didn't work. So I knew at this point the issue wasn't my logic or implementation, it was how the material was made. I combed through every single option and setting in both of the materials to find the difference and there it was. ONE SINGlE TICK BOX caused me hours of pain and struggle. I ticked it on and sure enough it works. The setting in question was called "Use with skeletal Mesh". It makes sense but I would have never thought of scrolling all the way down in settings like that!!! However, I was really glad I got it working and it makes the combat look that much better.
