The beginning of the End


Hello again. I can't believe it's already been a week since the last update, time flies. Well, we are now officially in our last month of production for our game (demo) and it is focusing on polishing things up rather than developing anything new. I was finally excited to be less stressed and polish up my AI but the week started out terribly. I woke up super sick on Sunday morning and have been ill since then. It has impeded my ability to come to work with my teammates because I don't want to spread my illness but also at home, it's been tough to sit at the desk because the back pain and the headaches are killing me. I managed to start on some things and get a little bit of work done. I am working on adding more attack variations to my AI so they don't just do 1 swing over and over, they will mix it up here and there. I managed to make it sort of straightforward by making an array of montages and filling them with attack montages. Then I hook it up to a random generator which will allow the AI to always hit randomly making it harder to predict patterns by the player. I think this simple addition to each AI will give them a little bit more depth and less plastic/training dummy feel. I will talk about another thing I'm working on next time because.... Don't even get me started, I hate it.
